SENATOR UCHE CHUKWUMERIJE (Isi karaka) IS DEAD.

Senator Uche Chuk­wumerije who was a former president of the Black Belt college and practiced and contributed immensely to the development of the sport (NTF) in Nigeria died on sunday afternoon after battling with lung cancer for a long time.
Ashiru, the chairman of the Nigerian Taekwon­doins federation lamented on the numerous achievements of the late senator;
“We all still remember how he has been the driv­ing force for Nigeria in Tae­kwondo and has committed huge funds into the spon­sorship of his son, Chika as well as others in ensuring that Nigeria remains a top contender in the world. We will miss him and we pray God to grant him eternal rest. As at Saturday, his kids were talking to him and he showed no signs of any­thing but (today) Sunday, he is gone. It’s a painful loss for us.” Meanwhile, the son Chidi Chuk­wumerije gave a little description of his father's death.
The statement read; “On the evening of Sunday,  the 19th of April, 2015, surrounded by his fam­ily, Comrade Uche Chuk­wumerije passed into the open arms of history, and of our Lord Jesus Christ, after a long but gallant battle with lung cancer.
“His life is many vol­umes, which can only be told with care and time, of dedication and focus, in­tegrity and discipline, and an unbroken love for the highest ideals of our shared humanity.”
