COULD BUHARI'S LACK OF URGENCY IN TACKLING ECONOMIC WOES, LEAVE NIGERIA BADLY ADRIFT?

On a wave of hope that he will deal with economic issues bedeviling the nation, Mohamadu Buhari is now being criticized by many as "Baba Go Slow" after it seems that nothing have been done since after the just concluded election upon which the Buhari's administration promised heaven and earth.
Owning to the fall in oil price that affected the Africa's highest oil producer in the past years which slowed the economic growth of the nation and weakened the currency Buhari, 72, has delayed naming of cabinets until September. Buhari last time acknowledged the fact blaming it on meeting almost empty treasury in the government purse, urging the people to give him chance to re-organize.   Yet his lack of urgency in tackling economic woes could leave Nigeria badly adrift, said John Ashbourne, an economist at Capital Economics in London.“Every week that Nigeria goes without a cabinet increases the chance that it will face a dangerous shock -- whether a revenue collapse or a currency crisis,” Ashbourne said by phone Tuesday. “Leaving the federation without a finance minister would be a questionable choice at the best of times; doing so during a period of economic instability is difficult to explain.” He further added.
Buhari is facing a unique situation because his victory over the incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan, ended 16 years of rule by the Peoples Democratic Party, his spokesman Femi Adesina said.
“This is not a normal changeover, it is from one government to another,” he said.
But, we should not be decieved from what had happened during the Buhari's campaign. Many things were said by the APC government then, which many Nigerians raised the problems which they encouter now nad was worried on how Buhari could achieve all these not minding the economic situation in the country.
Before i forget, PMB(PRESIDENT MOHAMADU BUHARI) should not forget the 7m job opportunities promised the south East Regions.
