This is 10 years now since this particular Dam project was abandoned after it took the lives of 2 innocent youths in the area. And since then nothing was done concerning the project even the families whose children died because of the careless way the Dam was being built. This particular Dam was awarded on january 2006 to a politically motivated contractor known as Omeiheukwu from Achi In Oji River L.G.A of Enugu state during the time of former preident, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Then, the son of former president of the old region Shehu Shagari was the minister of water resources, in which one Dr Orjioke from Amata Mgbowo in Awgu L.G.A of Enugu state was the secretary to the minister.
The political contractor started his work in a way that portrayed that work is not going to last. No security cover, no barricade to protect the community from encroaching the danger prone site. The abandoned work just started like that which was the reason why people tend to approach in order to observe what is happening, this latter amounted to the youths being attracted to the pool of water accumulated by the contractors without any protection. As unfortunate as the youths may be, 2 of them got drowned in the pool of water earlier February 2006. Within a short period of lazy work, the So-called secretary, Dr Orjioke and the contractor shared the money among themselves and abandoned the project which now creates a kind of danger zone to the community. The worst is that, nobody cares to ask about the project but now, I'm ready to die because of this project because, those killed by the carelessness are my brothers and i can't stop crying for their poor souls. Anyway, time have gone in which we will sit down and watch few individuals take advantage of us in this country again. Think of the revenue generation that could be coming out of this project which is enough to empower the unemployed youths and give them a sustainable job to rely on. Now, as I'm speaking to you, the contractor has ritualized my 2 brothers and nothing is being done about it. And the people sit down was watching the whole thing. But i, I'm not going to sit down and watch because I'm ready to be taken any where so far it is on the course of this abandoned Dam project that took the lives of two grown-up boys in that community.
The federal government must be attracted to this, and the contractor with the secretary to the then minister suppose go in for creating havoc to the people which led to the death of innocent citizens.
This is a RIVER BASIN AUTHORITY PROJECT THAT WAS TREATED LIKE THIS. Shame on to you my country Nigeria, where nothing goes as planed.
And the church give them the front sit in the synagogue without asking questions. All the priests need is money, the same money that these people stole from the poor masses is what the clergy needs. Then tell me, who is deceiving who? Are the church not for God again. I'm not trying to be religious but, the same people after swallowing the money meant for the masses go back to the church to give millions which they stole from the poor. And all the priests do is to accept this offer and make non-motivational prayers on the head of these political traitors. Are they not incurring course on their lives? It is left for them to answer.
